LONDON DAY 10

Today was a good day but stressful day at the same time. Our group went to Oxford and Blenheim Palace, which was owned by the Churchill’s. Darrin was doing research today so Susie left it up to us to decide whether we wanted to visit the house first or if we wanted to go thought the gardens, just as long as we visited both the day was our to whatever we wanted. My group (the usual) decided to do the gardens first. While they aren’t as big as the gardens in Versailles, it felt like there were acres upon acres of them. They were huge and so beautiful.

We first visit the “secret garden” which was my favorite part. It was like a small maze of sorts because you would turn a corner and find a new path to take and so on. It was so pretty. After the secret garden we walked through the Rose Garden and it smell so good. There were roses that were every color. It was so beautiful. We tried to visit the cascades but they have been doing so construction so we weren’t able to see anything. The property has its own lake, which was very beautiful. All in all the gardens and the surround landscapes were amazing.

At this point we decided to go into the house. Once again we weren’t allowed to take pictures and so everything was kind of a blur because we practically ran through it because we were running out of time and we still wanted to see Oxford College.

Instead we ended going to the Pleasure Gardens that were meant to be sort of a playground for the children and even for the adults. We rode a train out to them and the first place we visited was the Butterfly house. After we went into the park and it was fun because there was a maze and some mini golf. Giant board games, “brain puzzles”, and even a small adventure park, which was fun but not as fun as the adventure park at Wilton House.

We lost track of time and missed the last train back to the Palace, which meant we had to walk back. Then when we got back we found out that the front gate had been closed. At this point I was getting really annoyed. We had to walk out the back of Blenheim and around the side to get to the bus stop. It was so late that we didn’t get to see oxford or we would miss the last train to London. I was not a happy camper but I guess that will just have to wait till my next trip. Tomorrow we go to Burghley House where more scenes from Pride and Prejudice are filmed. See ya then.
