LONDON DAY 2

Today was fun but stressful. We started of at the V&A Museum. Darrin announced that we have an assignment, (due by Friday) where we had to make a pattern inspired by the museums we were going to today. Eek! I’m not good at patterns so this should be interesting. The V&A was really cool. The exhibits were really unique compared to what we had seen thus far. There was one called the history of Fashion, which was really interesting to see. It started back in the late 1800 / early 1900 and went up to present day and even into the future. Kind of cool to see how fashion changed… or didn’t. My Favorite exhibit in the museum was the Ironwork. SO BEAUTIFUL.

There was lots more to see but the one exhibit that stood out the most was the modern art exhibit because it was all the stuff I had learned about in Darrin’s History of Furnishings and Architecture class the last two semesters. The stacking chair, a lot of Eames stuff, Alto, and so much more.

After the V &A we walked to London City Hall. In the distance we could see the Lloyds of London, the Gherkin Building, and the Millennium Dome. We walked across the Tower Bridge after seeing London Tower where psycho King Henry the Eighth killed hundreds of people (or had them killed).

Our last stop of the day was Tate Modern. On the way there we say the Globe Theater made famous by William Shakespeare. I made it a goal to a play there. Tate Modern is cool but we weren’t aloud to take very many pictures so I don’t remember very much about it, which is bad because we needed to make a pattern inspired by Tate. I had to sketch some ideas and hopefully get something out of that.

After Tate Modern is where the Drama started. We were going to Harry Potter tonight and things got mixed up and crazy, and to make a long story short Kylee and I got separated from our group and we were both frustrated because we didn’t want to go to another theater, worried that someone else would be left our or …. something. Well it all worked out because we met up with Brady, Ali, Ashlee, Lindsay, and Kaitlyn and ended up sitting with them. Whew! It was all confusing but everything worked fine. Well we have a busy day again tomorrow so…

Laterz everyone.
